| The VI Southern Connection Congress will take place in the city of Bariloche, in north-western Patagonia, Argentina. Bariloche is a small town surrounded by snow-capped mountains and lakes of glacial origin, well-known as an important tourist centre. The congress will be held within walking distance to many hotels and to a variety of restaurants with traditional Argentinean and European cuisine. |

How to get there?
The town can be reached by plane (2 hours flight) or by bus (20 hours) from Buenos Aires, Argentina, or by plane or bus from Santiago, Chile. There is a special excursion from Puerto Montt, southern Chile, that arrives to Bariloche crossing several lakes by boat, with spectacular views of volcanoes and glaciers through rich Valdivian rain forests where the Puerto Blest Biological Station (Universidad Nacional del Comahue) is located.
Weather
Bariloche has cold, wet winters and warm, dry summers. The congress will be held during summer at the end of the dry season, so it will be warm and sunny during the day and cool and clear during the nights (average February Tmin=6°C, Tmax=22°C).
